The focus of this course is on the role of civil society and non-governmental organizations in times of crisis. The discussed case studies will include Afghanistan, South Sudan and the refugee crisis, featuring the most relevant and up-to-date examples of volunteer involvement. The course will also provide an insight into the ethical, organizational, and financial aspects of NGO operations, explaining their role as development aid providers after crisis situations.
