This course helps to understand:
How do contemporary states, nations, sub-national actors, international organizations and transnational companies seek to prevent, react, counter and combat domestic as well as international terrorism?
The course will comprise lectures including multimedia presentations (PowerPoint, videos, online tutorials), discussions based on compulsory and optional readings, and the simulation (role-playing) of an international counter-terrorism conference.
Having completed the course, students should have knowledge of methods, concepts, tools and actions undertaken for the purposes of prevention and combating of terrorism, be able to identify basic features and modes of counterterrorist activities, have a practical ability to work out a plausible practical response to different forms of terrorism.
