The three lectures intend to introduce students to a variety of contemporary debates and approaches in international theory. Given its short format, a choice has been made to provide some update on classical paradigmatic debates and newer approaches by nesting them into Foreign Policy Analysis widely conceived. Hence, a first lecture is on the evolution of FPA which covers classical approaches; a second introduces International Political Sociology through practice theory as applied to diplomatic studies; and the third lecture will tackle post-colonial diplomatic studies.
