The course in cultural awareness introduces students to the meaning and significance of culture in international relations. The students will discuss the following topics: cultural awareness and the concept of culture, the challenges connected with cultural pluralism, stereotypes and prejudice, the politics of identity, and the cultural determinants of political behaviour. Thanks to the participation in the course, students will gain an understanding of the role that cultural identities play in the context of international security and development processes, will be better able to communicate in cross-cultural context and suggest solutions based on their knowledge of cultural complexities.
