Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Development: Theories and Practice

The main purpose of this component of the degree is to familiarize students with the practical dimension of theoretical approaches of post-conflict reconstruction and development in post-conflict countries. An in-depth analysis of case studies of Kosovo, Timor-Leste and Somalia will enable students to understand the complexity of the design of post-conflict reconstruction and development programmes in these countries, as well as to learn about its outcomes. Students attending the course will acquire knowledge which will help advance their ability to be architects and/ or implementers of post-conflict reconstruction and development programs in the future.
