Students Participation

One of the goals of the project is to apply the concept of education through research by organizing lectures and workshops for students. The topics discussed related to solutions used in business will allow them to obtain knowledge and develop skills, which they may later use in their scientific life and future careers.

Below there are short bios of the participating students:

Fawzi Al-Awj

Picture of Fawzi Al-AwjMy name is Fawzi Al-Awj, I am from the republic of Yemen, I graduated with advanced diploma in computer science from Pune University in India and a double Bachelor degrees in International Business Management from Staffordshire University in England and another one from Asia pacific University in Malaysia. I am currently a 1st year student of Master in IR-PUB.

M Anas Badawi

Picture of M Anas BadawiM Anas Badawi, Syrian, 27 years, graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry - Damascus university. International Relations and Public Diplomacy Master’s student - Jagiellonian University. Anas is a civil activist and a youth worker, with more than 7 years of experience in the domains of youth engagement in the fields of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender equality, and active citizenship. Anas is also an advisory board member at Y-PEER Syria Network after he has been the focal point in charge (FPC) of the network leading its team of 700 members for two years 2019 - 2020. He is the project coordinator of "Tawleh" project, a Syrian youth project, launched in February 2020, as an attempt to create a civil space that enhances the concepts of citizenship and identity, and supports dialogues, within a civil value framework. Anas is a member of a number of regional and international youth networks, and he participated in a number of conferences and workshops at the national, regional, and international levels advocating for youth.

Kateryna Ikiuk

Picture of Kateryna IliukHello! My name is Kateryna Iliuk, and I am from Ukraine. Currently, I am a second-year master’s student in International Security and Development at Jagiellonian University. My academic interests include regional security systems, with a keen interest in the nuanced dynamics of security relations in the post-Soviet area and Europe. Additionally, my research interest extends to the reintegration of quasi-state separatist entities, complex global interactions, systemic theories, and network analysis.

Xinli Zhang

Picture of Xinli ZhangGreetings, I am Xinli from China and currently based in Krakow, pursuing a Master's degree in International Studies and Diplomacy (ISAD) at Jagiellonian University. As an active member of the Student Association for International Affairs and Diplomacy (SAIAD), engaged in matters pertaining to international social affairs. Driven by an open and talkative character, I have worked in the Overseas Marketing Department to strengthen the ties between Chinese and European enterprises. I chose the Complexity to Business World program to cultivate systemic thinking skills, essential for addressing challenges in my future career. This academic journey has not only expanded my knowledge but also allowed me to collaborate with a diverse array of talented individuals during lectures. I am enthusiastic about applying these experiences to make meaningful contributions to the global business landscape.

Julius Niewisch

Picture of Julius NiewischJulius Niewisch is a 1st year master's student of International Relations & Public Diplomacy at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. He holds bachelor's degrees in French and German law after studies in Potsdam and Paris. Due to internships he possesses insights into foreign and defence affairs in the parliaments of France and Germany and was also research intern at Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Philippines in 2023. His research interest are the use of religious narratives in foreign policy, urban development and factors of societal cohesion.

Urszula Bielska

Picture of Urszula BielskaI am a second year ISAD student. Prior to this course, I was working for various non-governmental organizations that provided support to asylum seekers and refugees in the UK. My research interests usually focus on human rights abuses, and issues of refugees, therefore it was great to have an opportunity to go out of my comfort zone and further expand my research and presentation skills and join my peers and industry professionals in a project that explored the question of what complexity in the business world is.

Picture of Sneha ChakrabartiSneha Chakrabarti completed her bachelors in Economics under the academic direction of London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Currently she is a final year MA. student at Jagiellonian University, studying International Security and Development while specializing in development. Her research interests includes the critical issue of migration driven by climate change in South Asia. She is an avid reader and a big foodie.
