The University of Rostock (German: Universität Rostock) is a public university located in Rostock, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Founded in 1419, it is the third-oldest university in Germany. It is the oldest university in continental northern Europe and the Baltic Sea area, and 8th oldest in Central Europe. Today, with about 14,000 students and 2,933 staff members, the University of Rostock conducts fascinating research into nearly all scientific fields.

As part of The complexity of challenges for EU-China relations in a turbulent world research project, our Partner is represented by Prof. Dr Wolfgang Muno, Dr Miao-ling Hasenkamp, Dr Pierre Gottschlich, Dr Christian Pfeiffer and Dr Ludmila Lutz-Auras.

The research has been supported by a grant from the Faculty of International and Political Studies under tha Strategic Programme Excellence Initiative at Jagiellonian University.
