The first part of the conference is organised on 6-8 July 2021 at the University of Siena (Italy), both stationary and due to limitation of cross-border traffic remotely as well. Second part of the conference will be organized in Krakow on 13-17 September 2021.
The conference is an integral part of the project implemented by the Centre for International Studies and Development from the National Agency for Academic Exchange (Katamaran, https://isad.uj.edu.pl/en_GB/programmes/ir-pub), which provides for the establishment of the international double-degree MA program International Relations and Public Diplomacy.
The aim of the conference is to unite scientists, experts and students representing the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, the University of Siena and other foreign research and development centres to share knowledge and research on broadly understood international relations and public diplomacy in order to present current challenges and developments in discussed area, and having in mind that the International Relations and Public Diplomacy programme is a research based project.
The thematic area of the conference includes broadly understood international relations, public diplomacy and the possibilities of their functioning in a pandemic and post-pandemic world. To reflect the complexity of circumstances, the cultural, economic, historical, religious aspects are taken into account. The Conference in July focuses on changes in European scenario in the internal and international scale. Discussed subjects include security, pandemic diplomacy, foreign policy and cultural relations.

The International Relations and Public Diplomacy (IR-PUB) is a new international and English-language master's degree program, lasting for 4 semesters, implemented by the funds of the Katamaran program of the National Agency for Academic Exchange (from the Knowledge-Education- Development Operational Program: POWER). The programme is implemented in partnership between Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland and University of Siena in Italy.
