Esther Staes graduated from the University of Namur, Faculty of Economics, Social Sciences and Management as a Political Science bachelor in 2019. Then, she continued her education in the Jagiellonian University to follow the Master of International Security and Development. Currently, she is developing her skills and knowledge doing a PhD research about : “the rivalry between states and corporations in the energy transitions” in the Jagiellonian University.

Main academic/research interest: technological developments, many complex areas of energy geopolitics and the link between energy and development. The main goal of her research is to create a connection between the industry and the regulations when it comes to energy, resources and investments.

Interests : corporate taxation, corporate systems, criminality, due diligence and compliance.

Hobbies : painting, playing the piano, going to concerts

The place where you can meet me when I’m not at work would be at the law faculty’s library, or in Belgium to meet my family.
