The goal of the course is to introduce students to the subject of international relations in Latin America. It will cover relations between Latin American countries as well as the U.S. influence on Latin American politics. The students will learn about integration and cooperation in the region, the influence of the cold war on international relations and the most important issues of the 21st century. Students will develop a heightened awareness of the relations between Latin American countries, as well as their theoretical background. They will have knowledge of the political, social and economic processes determining relations between Latin American countries, as well as insights into current events in the Western hemisphere.
