Name: Hanako Umezawa
Position: Visiting Professor
Dr. Hana Umezawa is Visiting Professor at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and Professor of International Relations at Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University (Ukraine). She holds LLB and MA from Keio University (Japan), MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK), and Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Kent at Canterbury (UK). She has a diverse work experience, ranging from government, policy think tanks, and academia. She served as Adviser on EU affairs at the Embassy of Japan in Sweden, and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) in Brussels. She worked as a researcher for the United Nations University in Belgium (UNU-CRIS) and Japan (UNU-IAS). She has taught at universities located as many as seven countries across the world (Japan, UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, UAE, India, and Ukraine), including Maastricht University (the Netherlands), Queen Mary University London (UK), Hitotsubashi University (Japan) and Keio University (Japan).
