Students from University of Siena visiting Krakow

We are pleased to announce that last week we were visited by students from the University of Siena - Hatam and Konstantina, who were also participants of the International Relations and Diplomacy in the Post-Pandemic World: The International Relations and Public Diplomacy Program Conference and Study Trip conference. Students took part in the student panel of the conference entitled New and Old Challenges in the Post-Pandemic World.

On September 16, students participated in a walking tour around Krakow prepared by SAIAD. Valeria Quintana Solis showed students from Siena to the Wawel Castle and the MOCAK Museum of Contemporary Art. On September 17, students from Siena met with the ISAD students and visited Salt Mine together.

Thank you SAIAD and ISAD Students for helping with preparations and showing students from Siena our beautiful city!

Check the Krakow guide prepared by SAIAD for Siena students and Valerias opinion about that international meeting: As foreign students in Kraków it’s such an honor when we are asked to show this amazing city to others, it brings us an immense joy to share our home. SAIAD is an autonomous student organization in the Jagiellonian University where different nationalities and stories meet. This time we had the opportunity to receive with our arms open some students from the University of Siena. During our little tour around Kraków, we had the chance to show our student city and our favorite places in it, from breakfast in Plac Szczepański, to a double modern art expo in MOCAK and the Cricoteka, and ending up the day with amazing polish food. We talked about our respective homes, from Mexico to Greece, compared and analyzed our student life from Poland to Italy, and as a required subject these days, about how COVID-19 has impacted our lives. It was an amazing opportunity to be able to interact in person with people from another university and from other countries, to learn and also teach about our respective realities, and to bond even in the pandemic situation we’re living in. I, for one, had an amazing time and hope that our guests fell in love with this city as much as I did the first time I saw it.
