Magdalena Kozub-Karkut

Doctor of Political Science and assistant professor with a doctor's degree at the Department of Theory of Politics and State of the Institute of Political Science and International Relations of the Jagiellonian University of Kraków.

Magdalena completed a master programme in International Relations at the Institute of Political Science and International Relations of the Jagiellonian University (2008) as well as a master programme in Public Administration at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University (2009).

In 2013 she defended her doctoral dissertation titled Global governance – podejście badawcze w  stosunkach międzynarodowych [Global governance as a research concept in International Relations] with honours at the Institute of Political Science and International Relations of the Jagiellonian University. The dissertation was published in 2015 as the monograph Global governance we współczesnej debacie o stosunkach międzynarodowych, Rambler, Warszawa 2015; [Global Governance in the Current IR Debate, Rambler Warsaw 2015.]

She continued her research on IR theories and Foreign Policy Analysis and published the monograph Realizm neoklasyczny w perspektywie teorii stosunków międzynarodowych i polityki zagranicznej, Wyd. UJ, Kraków 2020; [Neoclassical Realism in the International Relations and Foreign Policy Analysis Perspective, Jagiellonian University Press, Kraków 2020]. Additionally, she is the author of many articles and book chapters related to the issue of theoretical pluralism, security theories and Polish public discourses.

The Jagiellonian University in Kraków became her workplace in 2017, where you can find her researching and teaching on Political Decision Making, Theory of Politics, Methodology of Security Research as well as Foreign Policy Analysis.

While working at the Jagiellonian University she took part in many international workshops and conferences and she is the member of Polish International Studies Association (PTSM), Polish Political Science Association (PTNP), International Studies Association (ISA), European International Studies Association (EISA) and Central and East Europe International Studies Association (CEEISA). 

She worked both as Principal Investigator and as Investigator in research grants awarded by the Polish National Science Center (NCN).
